It's so easy TO ADDRESS ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY IN your DESIGN PROjects
Less waste.
Less toxicity.
Less energy consumption.
A FEW SUSTAINABILITY guidelines
Raw Materials
- Specify recycled papers with a high post-consumer fiber content or FSC-certified papers
- Use paper that has been bleached with a chlorine-free process
- Ask your printer to use vegetable-based inks
- Become aware of the energy consumed and waste produced in the manufacture of the raw materials you require
- Support those businesses with a commitment to alternative energies, environmental stewardship, and reducing their carbon footprint
Design Process
- Design for recyclability
- Proof as long as possible in .pdf format onscreen
- Educate your audience by identifying the environmentally sound choices made during your project on your printed piece
- Be aware of the impositioned layout of your project on the press sheet to eliminate wasted paper
In the Office
- Close the recycling loop by purchasing office products with recycled content
- Recycle your own ink cartridges and office consumables
- Conserve electricity
Love the planet.
